News Traditional Meet Tees, Tees Eco Mergers & Acquisitions Gildan Acquires Anvil Gildan Activewear Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the holdings of Anvil, parent company of Anvil Knitwear ( asi/36350 ). The deal is for a total purchase price of $88 million. Anthony Corsano, president and CEO of Anvil, will now become a member of Gildan’s senior management team. Corsano will join Gildan’s Branded Apparel division. “We believe that the acquisi-tion of Anvil and the combination of the compatible cultures and strengths of our two companies will position Gildan to further enhance our product offering for our printwear customers and build further on our leadership position in this market,” said Glenn Chamandy, president and CEO of Gildan, in a statement. “In addition, the projected eco-nomic returns from the acquisi-tion are highly attractive and are expected to create further value for our shareholders.” For its fiscal year ended Janu-ary 28, 2012, Anvil generated revenues in excess of $200 mil-lion. Gildan has annual revenues of nearly $2 billion. Cintas Signs Partnership Deal With Touchstone Top 40 distributor firm Cin-tas ( asi/162167 ) has signed an alliance partnership deal with Mason, OH-based Touchstone ( asi/345631 ). The deal, which is a long-term contractual relation-ship effective immediately, calls for Touchstone to begin working with Cintas to service its enter-prise promotional clients. While Cintas will keep its ASI number and serve some of its clients with promotional items, Touchstone will now work with Cintas to manage the company’s promo-tional marketing relationships. “We’re very excited about this new partnership,” Derek Block, president of Touchstone, told Counselor in an exclusive inter-view. “Cintas had been searching for a partner in the industry for more than a year, and we’re glad they chose Touchstone. For us, it opens up many opportunities to serve the Cintas customer base that’s looking for more compre-hensive promotional campaigns.” Cintas ranks as the eighth-largest distributor in the indus-try, with estimated annual North American ad specialty sales of $160 million. Touchstone reports 2011 North American ad spe-cialty revenues of $30.5 million. Boundless Network Expands With JAMS Partnership Top 40 distributor Boundless Network ( asi/143717 ) has signed a partnership agreement with California-based distributor JAMS ( asi/233335 ). Financial terms of the deal were not dis-closed, although Boundless plans to add about $7 million in annual revenue to its total as a result of the transaction. Boundless Net-work reported 2011 North Amer-ican ad specialty sales of $44.1 million, ranking it number 31 on the Counselor Top 40.
